At the meeting, the postdoctoral researcher presented his research paper, titled "Research on Key Technologies for Carbon Fiber Recycling in Carbon Plates for Wind Power," outlining the research background, methodology, content, feasibility analysis, and work plan. His clear approach and solid content received unanimous approval from the leaders and experts present. The attending leaders and experts also engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the research's innovativeness and practicality, offering many valuable suggestions.

Research Highlights

As the development concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets" gains deeper roots, people's awareness of environmental protection is growing stronger. Carbon fiber and its composites are a key area for the development of my country's new materials industry. To promote the sustainable development of this industry, various environmental laws, regulations, and policies are being gradually introduced. EU legislation strictly limits the recycling of waste carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), requiring producers to be responsible for the disposal of waste CFRP and prohibiting its disposal by landfill. In 2000, the EU Council issued the "Technical Directive on End-of-Life Vehicles," requiring that 95% of the composite materials in end-of-life vehicles be recycled, with a reuse rate of at least 85%. At the 75th UN General Assembly in September 2020, my country clearly proposed the dual carbon goals of "peaking carbon dioxide emissions" (2030) and striving to achieve "carbon neutrality" by 2060.


As a key area for development in my country's new materials industry, the recycling and reuse of CFRP waste not only meets the requirements of the national sustainable development strategy but also aligns with the development trend of a "low-carbon" new industrial system. It is an important measure to promote the sustainable development of the advanced composite materials field, possessing significant economic and environmental implications. This project focuses on the high-value reuse of recycled carbon fiber, developing a recycling process adapted to existing carbon fiber composites for wind power applications. The goal is to achieve high-efficiency and low-damage carbon fiber recycling, further promoting resource utilization, environmental protection strategies, high-end market development, and expanding the potential functional demands of next-generation materials. Simultaneously, the project aims to improve fiber surface wettability to prepare high-performance fiber-reinforced composites, meeting the application needs of recyclable carbon fiber in 3C products, wind power, rail transportation, and automobiles.

These platforms continuously accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements into real productive forces, forming the "brain" supporting the company's innovative development.
