On September 30, Suzhou held a reception to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Representatives from foreign consulates general in Shanghai, foreign nationals in Suzhou, representatives from Fortune Global 500 companies and foreign chambers of commerce, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, and representatives from all sectors of Suzhou society attended the event.
At the 2022-2023 Suzhou Municipal Honors Award Ceremony for Non-City Residents，Mr. Xu Wenqian, Chairman of Aosheng Technology, was awarded the "Suzhou Friends Memorial Award" as a representative of the overseas Chinese community.
The "Friends of Suzhou Memorial Award" was established in March 2021 to recognize and encourage foreign citizens, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese who have made significant contributions to Suzhou's economic construction, social development, and cooperation and exchanges.
Cao Lubao, member of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee, attended the reception and delivered a speech.
Cao Lubao stated that Suzhou's achievements are fundamentally due to the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the result of the joint efforts of all the people and businesses in the city, and inseparable from the strong support of friends at home and abroad. We are striving to build a first-class innovation ecosystem, create a high ground for opening up to the outside world, foster the best business environment, and improve the quality of urban life, comprehensively launching a new practice of Chinese-style modernization in Suzhou. You can always trust Suzhou. We hope that friends from all walks of life at home and abroad will continue to care about and support Suzhou, and work together to create a better tomorrow.
