The General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese jointly held a National Day reception at the Great Hall of the People on October 28 to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Wang Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, attended and delivered a speech.

Wang Yang pointed out that this year marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China, which is of extremely special significance in the history of the Party and the country, and in the history of the Chinese nation. General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered an important speech at the ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, comprehensively reviewing the Party's century-long struggle, clearly putting forward the great founding spirit of the Party, and profoundly expounding the fundamental requirements of learning from history and creating the future, which greatly inspired the lofty aspirations of all Chinese people. The Communist Party of China is a political party with ideals and responsibilities, strength and achievements, confidence and resolve. It has always placed the people in the highest position in its heart and has always regarded the realization of national rejuvenation as the theme of all its struggles, sacrifices, and creations. Through continuous efforts, we have successfully achieved the first centenary goal and are now marching confidently towards the second centenary goal. Every Chinese person has reason to be proud of this. As long as we unswervingly uphold the Party's leadership, firmly follow the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, closely rely on the people, and strengthen the great unity of the Chinese people, no difficulties or obstacles can stop the resolute march of the Chinese nation towards great rejuvenation.

Wang Yang emphasized that the central government has always cared about the development of Hong Kong and Macao and the well-being of their people. He stated that China will continue to fully and accurately implement the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, resolutely uphold the principles of "patriots governing Hong Kong" and "patriots governing Macao," and fully support the special administrative region governments in governing according to law, developing the economy, and improving people's livelihoods. With the strong backing of the great motherland, the future of Hong Kong and Macao will undoubtedly be even brighter.
Wang Yang emphasized that resolving the Taiwan issue and achieving the complete reunification of the motherland is the common aspiration of all Chinese people. He stressed the importance of adhering to the one-China principle and the "1992 Consensus," promoting the peaceful development and integrated development of cross-strait relations, implementing and improving policies that benefit Taiwan and its people, resolutely crushing any "Taiwan independence" schemes, and firmly opposing any external interference. While the current situation in the Taiwan Strait remains complex, the momentum and advantage are always on the side of those who advocate national reunification, and the initiative and control over resolving the Taiwan issue remain firmly in the hands of mainland China.
Wang Yang emphasized that overseas Chinese and returned overseas Chinese and their families are an important force in achieving national rejuvenation. He called for dedicated efforts to provide services to overseas Chinese, supporting them in participating deeply in the comprehensive modernization process of the motherland, telling China's story well, spreading China's voice effectively, and jointly realizing and sharing the Chinese Dream.
The reception was presided over by Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission. Some members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretaries of the Central Secretariat in Beijing, as well as leaders of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and more than 800 representatives from various sectors of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese communities attended the reception.
