On the evening of September 23rd, a celebratory gathering was held in Suzhou, jointly organized by the Suzhou Overseas Friendship Association and the Hong Kong Suzhou Chamber of Commerce, to celebrate the 71st anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 2nd anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Suzhou Chamber of Commerce.  More than 200 Hong Kong compatriots residing in Suzhou and some of their family members attended the event. Tang Ying-yen, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the Hong Kong Jiangsu Associations Federation, delivered a congratulatory message via video. Li Yaping, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, sent a congratulatory letter on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, and Zhu Min, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech at the event.

During the evening event, awards were presented to outstanding Hong Kong businesspeople, in recognition of their courage in facing the sudden outbreak of the pandemic, their active contributions in donating to combat the epidemic, and their efforts in resuming work and production to contribute to Suzhou's economy. Mr. Xu Wenqian, Chairman of Jiangsu Aosheng Composite Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Vice President of the Hong Kong Suzhou Chamber of Commerce, received two awards: the Special Contribution Award for Poverty Alleviation and the Special Contribution Award for Resuming Work and Production.

During the pandemic, Mr. Xu donated funds and supplies to the affected areas. Under Mr. Xu's leadership, Aosheng Technology took proactive and effective measures to resume production and operations, restoring production in the shortest possible time. This year's production has increased significantly compared to the same period last year, and the estimated output value this year will increase by 60% compared to last year. Throughout his leadership of Aosheng Technology, Mr. Xu has consistently embodied the spirit of entrepreneurship, actively supporting the government's poverty alleviation efforts. He has made donations to remote primary schools and established scholarships for university students, setting an excellent example for his fellow Hong Kong businesspeople.
